Due to the heavy winds in the Gobi desert and the northwestern parts of China, the China Meteorological Administration on Monday announced a yellow alert. As the capital was shrouded in brown dust, the sandstorm spread their dust from Mongolia to the nearby regions of Beijing – Gansu, Hebei, and Shanxi.
The administration has called the sandstorm the biggest one in the decade. Nearly 341 people went missing as the sandstorm hit the neighboring regions of Mongolia.
