The Social Media Giant Imposes Mandatory Work From Home

Twitter Inc. makes work from home mandatory for all its employees following the coronavirus. They had only recommended this practice earlier. Its Hong-Kong, Japan and South Korea locations are already under remote work due to the government restrictions.
The San Fransisco-based company has over 35 offices globally, and this policy has been extended to all of them. Twitter said it will be paying the contractors and hourly-wage workers to carry out the standard working hours.
Across the U. S. Tech industry, the steps taken by the social media giant are being carried on. Microsoft Corp and others have committed to pay hourly workers and also are requesting all those who can to start working remotely.
The South by Southwest festival this month, the Google I/O developer conference in May and the E3 gaming expo in June are some of the large scale events that are being cancelled across the U.S. Bans are being imposed on gatherings of local and large crowds by the local and state authorities. After one of the National Basketball Association season player was identified positive of COVID-19, the season was suspended.
