The Natuvion Group: Awarded 2020 Fastest-Growing SAP Solution Provider

Organizations are currently facing numerous challenges in establishing a sustainable business model. To grow in this competitive market, companies are investing in robust enterprise-grade applications such as SAP S/4HANA. SAP is the market leader in enterprise application software, helping companies of all sizes and in all industries run at their best: 77% of the world’s transaction revenue touches an SAP system.
The Natuvion Group, an SAP Gold partner and one of the founding partners for the new SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Approach, is highlighted as one of the 10 Fastest-Growing SAP Solution Providers in 2020.
As one of the few DATA INTEGRATORS, Natuvion sees data as the energy of digital platforms! Data should be clean, secure, compliant, available, and accessible. Natuvion is known for its innovations in data management that accelerate SAP system carve-outs, mergers, S/4HANA transformations and the integration of data across all platforms including SAP, Salesforce, ORACLE, MS Dynamics, Mule or Boomi.
Natuvion believes that data drives the business and data drives competitive advantage and Natuvion’s unique pool of extraordinarily experienced data integration architects deliver high quality work, at a high speed, while still managing to personalize its services in a boutique way for its customers.
Natuvion is growing quickly in world of transformation and data management because it has the world’s only data transformation platform, called DCS that enables data transformation from any source to any target.
The Data Conversion Server (DCS) uses artificial intelligence algorithms and data object libraries to automate data mapping and accelerate testing, therefore minimizing the effort of complex data transformation and migration. The most forward-thinking large system integrators are reselling Natuvion’s transformation platform and partnering on their S/4HANA projects to provide their customers with lower cost and higher quality accelerated migration services.
In addition to SAP and non-SAP system migrations to SAP S/4HANA, and along with carve-out and merger work, Natuvion focuses on helping companies achieve data privacy compliance. They turn data protection and privacy into a business advantage. With data laws rapidly changing in USA and Europe, this topic is increasingly important. Natuvion helps with consent, data subject requests, and Data Retention and Data Management including retention, blocking, masking, deletion and archiving, data merge, cleanse, decommissioning, integration, anonymization, and pseudonymization.
Below are highlights of the interview conducted between Insights Success and Natuvion’s CEO Patric Dahse:
What led to the inception of The Natuvion Group?
Natuvion, a digital transformation company, was founded by a team of SAP top-talent employees with a unique combination of experience from the Utilities industry, SAP System Landscape and Optimization Team, and Data Privacy and Protection.
Patric Dahse, The Natuvion Group’s CEO, was awarded “outstanding contributor” at SAP for developing an analysis tool for SAP’s first MOVE program, intended for companies migrating to SAP S/4HANA. The findings from this work provided early insights into the fact that data was becoming a corporate asset and could drive major competitive advantages. He was right – data management has proven to be a key factor in the successful adoption of SAP S/4HANA, specifically in its purpose as a single source of truth and platform for the intelligence enterprise.
In 2014, Patric had the vision for the world’s first “digital transformation platform.” And so, he left SAP to make this a reality. By 2020, Natuvion has grown organically through word of mouth and recurring contracts, employing more than 160 people. Natuvion provides over 330+ enterprises globally with exclusive, boutique, and unparalleled SAP and Salesforce consulting services. His vision for a digital transformation platform is a reality, helping these customers achieve success. Data Conversion Server (DCS) is the only digital transformation platform that migrates data from any source to any receiver and uses machine learning to enhance the speed and quality of data mapping and testing throughout a conversion.
Describe your company and its SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Approach that addresses the needs of your customers.
SAP S/4HANA is SAP’s ERP for large enterprises. It is optimized for SAP’s in-memory database SAP HANA. By providing intelligent applications and best practices for every line of business, SAP S/4HANA is an opportunity to reshape how companies do business.
Transitioning to SAP S/4HANA is a top priority for many of our customers because it is inextricably tied to their digital transformation strategy. Business leaders are excited for new innovations like Real-Time Analytics, AI, and Machine Learning, but cannot tolerate any disruption with day to day operations.  At the same time, they want to leverage historical investments in systems, processes, and data that currently work for them—often these processes are running smoothly and provide a competitive business advantage.
SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Approach is a new approach that brings a high level of flexibility for customers to migrate to SAP S/4HANA. This approach allows for the use of new innovations in SAP S/4HANA, while simultaneously and selectively letting them leverage their previous investments in historical data and processes. At the same time, in just one step, customers can make use of this platform change to combine business requirements like chart-of-account change, or organizational restructuring.
With DCS, our specialized migration software, and other consulting accelerators, companies can go live in months, rather than years—often in a single weekend with nearzero downtime—therefore minimizing business disruption.
What is one of the challenges enterprises are facing and how are they best dealt with?
Until recently, enterprises were only offered a Brownfield (conversion) or Greenfield (new implementation) approach to move to SAP S/4HANA. This was a challenge because Brownfield is a conversion & DB migration project led by IT, and an overhead expense with no new value to the lines of business. Greenfield is a new implementation requiring a high level of business change management, without allowing the business to make use of historical data and processes that add value or competitive IP for process management.
“Selective Data Transition” is the new hybrid approach that goes beyond a standardized new implementation (Greenfield) or system conversion (Brownfield). With this innovative approach, it is possible to freely select the data sets you want to migrate, therefore combining a flexible redesign of business processes and the preservation of historical data. The result gives both business and IT exactly what they are seeking in a cost-effective, timebound project that has minimum disruption to the business while still allowing the use of new innovations and processes in S/4HANA.
What is the SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Community?
In 2018, the demand for more flexible methods for migration to SAP S/4HANA increased significantly in the market. Customers directly asked SAP for a new hybrid approach which combined the common methods of Brownfield (conversion) and Greenfield (new implementation).
Answering this customer request, SAP founded the “SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Approach Engagement” taskforce. SAP invited four high quality, extremely experienced partners who are certified as “Recognized Experts” for successful SAP system transformations: cbs, Datavard, Natuvion, and SNP. As a global expert community, the “SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Engagement” taskforce leverages the combined IP, knowledge, and experience of all members from several thousand successful SAP ERP migration projects to help customers migrate to SAP S/4HANA. The taskforce has a common charter to establish best practice standards, methods, and processes for a secure migration to SAP S/4HANA.
How do your solutions differ from others?
In addition to our DCS migration software, we are very proud that we have 100% references and clients that stay with us, renewing their contracts year after year. Listening to their requirements is key to this success. Being open to our customers’ feedback fostered the creation of a new type of consulting service—SAP S/4HANA microservices and accelerators. Our clients now have a menu of costeffective and time-bound services they can select from that build on each other. At the same time, we complement our customers’ internal teams’ abilities and focus on helping them with unique ways to increase their end-user system adoption.
What are two examples of microservices?

  • S/4HANA migrations: Natuvion’s SAP S/4HANA microservices package helps companies research, architect, and resource-plan their move to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Data Cleansing, Archiving, and Compliance: With over 145 SAP ILM projects (SAP Information Lifecycle Management), Natuvion combines ILM technical accelerators with crosstrained data privacy technical consultants, and even have a pool of data privacy lawyers available. It is the optimal combination to accelerate archiving, deletion, and compliance projects both technically from within SAP systems, while at the same time enabling data cleansing or compliance in business processes.
