Americans living in some GOP-led states would have to let go of their unemployment benefits three months before the extra laid is set to end. At least 25 states led by Republican governors have decided to drop the extra aid and several other pandemic program reliefs. These programs include the aid that continued to provide an extra $300 per week added to the regular unemployment benefits by the states.
However, the supplementary aid will not expire until September 6. Mississippi, Missouri, Iowa, and Alaska are among the states that will opt out of the extra aid and unemployment benefits.
