Load DynamiX: Art Of The Storage Workload

Used by nearly every storage vendor on the planet and by Global 1000 IT organizations, Load DynamiX, is a storage performance analytics solutions empowering storage professionals to more intelligently purchase, deploy and troubleshoot storage infrastructure.

‘Vendor-independence’ is a core value of Load DynamiX, who has unique insights into the performance of just about every storage system from every vendor. They work with end-user IT organizations as they empower them to determine which workloads should be deployed on which vendor’s storage systems.

Load DynamiX provides solutions that address the needs of both the storage production operations teams as well as the engineering and architecture teams. Being the only vendor that provides a comprehensive storage performance analytics solution that includes automated workload acquisition, workload analysis, workload modeling, and load generation products, Load DynamiX is striving to be the essential vendor-independent source of insight into storage performance.

Philippe Vincent, CEO Load DynamiX, an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and Diplome d’Ingenieur from ENSAM (France), over 22 years of experience in technology industries. Philippe began his career with engineering positions at Alcatel and PSA Peugeot Citroen.

Philippe held senior executive positions with BigFix, IBM and Accenture. During his tenure at BigFix, he led several business functions and drove strategy and operations across the company. He helped drive BigFix to a leadership position in the Systems and Security Management markets, and a successful sale to IBM in 2010. At IBM, Philippe helped lead the integration of BigFix into the Tivoli business unit. Before BigFix, he was a Partner with Accenture’s High Tech strategy practice, and a leader of its Software practice.

A storage workload analysis and modeling approach

Load DynamiX is used to make intelligent decisions about storage purchases and deployments and to accelerate the performance troubleshooting process. The primary benefits are significant storage cost reduction and risk mitigation through performance assurance. Philippe states an example, “By using the Load DynamiX workload modeling and load generation products, one of our cloud service provider customers was able to cut their storage costs by over 60% by transitioning from a legacy file storage vendor to a software defined storage approach using off the shelf hardware.  Load DynamiX gave them the data and confidence to make this transition that enabled a savings of over $10M over a 3 year timeframe.”

Unique insight into application workload performance

Load DynamiX is a Storage Performance Analytics innovator providing unique insight into application workload performance for both storage vendors and IT organizations.  The vendors use the products in their QA and performance engineering teams to find performance and scalability problems before their customers find them.  IT managers use Load DynamiX to determine and align performance requirements to storage purchase and deployment decisions.  With this analysis, they can save millions by not over-provisioning storage or increase revenues but avoiding unplanned outages and slowdowns due to performance problems.  The combination of advanced workload analysis and modeling software with extreme workload generation appliances give IT professionals the ability to cost-effectively validate and stress today’s most complex storage infrastructure to its limits.

Philippe says, “The storage industry is experiencing one of its biggest revolutions in decades. New storage technologies such as solid state storage, cloud storage, software-defined storage and converged storage are all dramatically re-shaping the data centers of both corporations and government agencies. End users need to understand and be able to intelligently assess these new approaches to traditional storage.”

Load DynamiX will continue to play a critical role in empowering users to easily assess the technologies from a performance perspective and make better storage infrastructure decisions.
