Tesla, the Texas based electric car maker is leading the electric car market of Norway. The brand is a top selling one, in 48% jump in sales of electric cars in 2021, in the Norwegian Car Market. Thus, in the country out of 3 cars two are electric.
As Norway plans to become first country to eliminate petrol and diesel cars by as soon as 2025, the oil-producing nation follows the policy where battery electric vehicles or BEV’s are exempted from taxes, while they are imposed on those carmakers who use internal combustion engines (ICE).
Tesla is the number one brand with 11.5 per cent share of Norway’s car market, followed by Germany’s Volkswagen at 9.4 per cent.
