Google introduces new hybrid work model for employees.

After employees started voluntarily returning to company offices last month, since the pandemic, google decided to give them more flexibility with respect to where they choose to work from.
CEO, Pichai, implemented a rearranging of the offices to create more features, covering the ‘hybrid’ return to work structure.
In addition to the 3 days in office and 2 days from “wherever they work best”, announcement in December, Google has offered more opportunities for their employees to move around.
Employees will be allowed to apply to work from different office sites from mid-June and more information on this will be provided soon. At the same time employees will have the option to work away from their assigned offices for a 4-week temporary basis.
Teams will be formed with people from different sites and places and hence increase the options of more remote roles. Employees will also be allowed to apply for remote work within their product area.
“Whether you choose to transfer to a different office or opt for completely remote work, your compensation will be adjusted according to your new location”, said Pichai.
Google estimates that 60% of employees will work onsite for “a few days a week”; 20% will work from home and the remainder from new office locations of their preference.
