She has made many decisions that other GM leaders never dared, like pulling out of Europe to appear on higher-margin operations in North America and China while capitalizing significantly in fresh mobility services like shared, autonomous electric vehicles. “We’ve made very important and strategic investments in key technologies that have put us in a leadership position in the areas where this industry is being transformed. In fact, we plan on leading in that transformation,” Mary adds.
